Interior refurbishment of an apartment located in the Ciutat Vella district in Barcelona, with views overlooking the council square. Its new Dutch owners, wanted to transform it into a luminous Nordic-inspired open space with well communicated areas, to showcase their mid-century furniture.
The project includes the complete redistribution of the once fully partitioned apartment, substituting the main structural wall with a metallic beam. These changes lead to a spacious common area, including the living area and a kitchen with an island, in between the main bedroom and a little studio for guests that are each separated with two panels with pocket doors.
The interior finishings get a Nordic and industrial style through a grey continuous cement floor, white paint and lacquer and custom-made furnishings in composite wood.
